New Milford

New Milford is home to the quintessential New England village green. The downtown area has recently been restored. The town is famous for Village Fair Days, held each July. Local merchants and community organizations set up shop along the green for two days of fun. Traditional events are the Rotten Sneaker Contest, Kid's Fun Run, and Men's Best Leg Contest. Located just 15 miles north of Danbury, major transportation Route 7 is expanding to accommodate recent growth and a train route direct to New York City is being planned.
